MIJA has been a leading manufacturer of spiral spring pressure gauges for the fire protection industry since 1972. Our fire extinguisher gauges accurately report cylinder pressures up to 6000 psi and meet the stringent Underwriters Laboratories requirements. MIJA has hundreds of Underwriter’s Listings (UL) for pressures up to 6000psi. MIJA’s development of the spiral spring stainless steel Bourdon tube has resulted in it becoming the global standard for fire extinguishers.
MIJA’s fire protection and suppression pressure gauge products are suitable for most types of fire protection systems and for the types of fire. Fires are classified based on the types of fuel they burn.
Class A Fires
Class A Fire is a fire cause by any ordinary combustibles from anything that leaves ash, such as wood, paper, or trash. Water works best to extinguish a Class A Fire.
Class B Fires
Class B Fires are fueled by flammable or combustible liquids, like oil, gasoline, and other similar materials. To reduce the oxygen supply smothering the fire with an extinguisher is the safest and most effective solution.
Class C Fires
Energized Electrical Fires are known as Class C fires. Always de-energize the circuit then use a non-conductive extinguishing agent, such as Carbon dioxide.
Class D Fire:
Class D Fires are combustible metal fires. If a metal fire does ignite, water will not extinguish the fire; only dry powder extinguishers can successfully smother and absorb the heat.
Class K Fire:
Class K Fires are fires are most common in the kitchen as they involve cooking oils, grease or animal fat and can be extinguished using Purple K, the typical agent found in kitchen or galley extinguishers.
MIJA’s products are suitable for most types of fire protection systems:
- Class A, B, C, D, K
- Dry chemicals
- Foam: AFFF, AR-AFFF, FFFP, CAF
- Wet chemicals
- Clean agents: Halon, CO2
